About this award

The Public Service Alliance of Canada offers scholarships to dependent children under 26 of members in good standing who will attend full-time post-secondary studies, in any year of a program. Awards range from $1,000 to $4,000 and include one regional award for each PSAC region, including Ontario, plus equity scholarships for students who self-identify as a woman, Indigenous, a person with a disability, racialized or 2SLGBTQIA+. Winners are chosen by judges based on an essay or creative submission, and past winners cannot win again.

Who can apply

  • Dependent child under 26 of a PSAC member in good standing (dues paid and signed membership card) as of March 31 of the application year
  • Attending full-time studies at a recognized post-secondary institution in the fall
  • Not limited to first-year students; past winners cannot win again

What to submit

  • Online application
  • Essay of 750 to 850 words, or a video, infographic, song or other creative submission up to 5 minutes
  • Parent's PSAC ID number and component or directly chartered local
  • Proof of registration and SIN (finalists)
