About this site
Scholarship & Grant Finder helps families in North Bay and the Nipissing area find scholarships, bursaries and grants for university, college and the trades. It is for high school students in Grades 9 to 12 and their families. It is a free, independent project shared with a few local families.
Always confirm on the official site
Amounts, deadlines and rules change every year, and providers do not always update their pages on time. This site is a starting point. Before you apply, check every detail on the award's official page, which is linked from each award. If something here disagrees with the official page, the official page is right.
This site is not connected to any school, school board, college, university, government or award provider, and it is not financial advice.
What is covered
The site lists 128 awards: 46 from North Bay, the Nipissing area and Northern Ontario, plus Ontario-wide and national awards open to Ontario students. Nothing outside Canada is included. Local awards come first because they are often the most realistic wins.
Government help such as OSAP, Canada Student Grants and RESP programs is included too, along with automatic entrance scholarships at Ontario universities and colleges.
How the information is gathered and checked
- Every award comes from the provider's own website: the school, government, foundation, union or organization that gives it. Scholarship listing sites are used only as leads, never as the source.
- Each award page shows its official link, the page the details came from, short quotes from that page, and the date it was last checked.
- After the first research, a second, independent check reloaded the official pages and corrected or removed anything that could not be confirmed. Nothing is filled in by guessing.
- Not fully confirmed means at least one detail could not be confirmed on the official page, or two official pages disagree. Blank details were left blank on purpose.101 of the 128 awards are fully confirmed.
- When this year's date is not posted yet, the award says "Date not confirmed" and shows last year's date as a guide. The timeline marks next year's dates as "expected" for the same reason.
- Links are checked regularly, and awards that end are kept in the archive but hidden from results.
- Once a month, an automated check reads each award's official page and a list of pages that announce new awards. It identifies itself as ScholarshipFinderBot and makes only a few requests to each site. If a site shows its pages only to web browsers, the check asks once more the way a browser does, to read the same public page a family would see.
Report a problem or suggest an award
Spotted a wrong deadline, a broken link or a missing local award? Each award page has a "Report a problem with this award" link, and every page has "Suggest an award" at the bottom. Both open an email.
If those links do not open your email app, write to awards at stealthdigital dot ca (the address is spelled out to keep spam away). Please do not send anything personal about your student.
Your answers stay on your device
- Interview answers are saved only in this browser on this device. They are never sent to us or anyone else, and the matching runs entirely in your browser.
- No accounts, no tracking cookies and no analytics. Nothing about your family is ever put in a web address.
- To use another device, choose Download my answers on your matches page, thenLoad answers from a file on the other device.
- Clear my data on your matches page removes your answers and checklist from this device.
How matches are ranked
An award is only left out when one of your answers clearly rules it out, such as a different school board, a program your student is not considering, or an average well below the minimum. A skipped question never rules anything out. The rest are ranked by how well they fit your answers, with local awards, upcoming deadlines and awards that are easier to get moved up. Each match explains why it was suggested and what it needs.
