OSAP (Ontario Student Assistance Program)

Government of Ontario, Ministry of Colleges, Universities, Research Excellence and Security

Amount
Not publishedThe amount depends on school costs and family income. For 2026-2027, the OSAP weekly maximum for a single full-time student with no dependants at a public Ontario college or university is $530 per week of study, and students may get more than this, for example through Canada Student Grants. For programs starting on or after August 1, 2026, more of the provincial funding is given as loans rather than grants.
Deadline
No fixed dateThere is no single deadline. Full-time students must apply no later than 60 days before the end of their study period. It usually takes about 4 to 6 weeks to hear back once all documents are in. Grade 12 students starting in fall 2027 will use the 2027-2028 application, which is not posted yet, so check ontario.ca/osap.
