About this award
An Ontario cash grant to help apprentices buy the tools and equipment their trade requires. The amount depends on the trade group, from $400 for service trades to $1,000 for motive power trades. Apprentices qualify after finishing Level 1 in-class training and being registered for at least a year. The province emails eligible apprentices an application link.
Who can apply
- Registered Ontario apprentice with a registered training agreement
- Completed, or exempted from, Level 1 in-class training on or after April 1, 2020
- Registered as an apprentice for at least 12 months
