Equipment bought more than 60 days before the study period starts, bought second-hand or bought from a non-registered business is not covered.

About this award
Extra OSAP-linked funding for college and university students with a verified permanent, persistent or prolonged disability, to pay for services and equipment they need for their studies, such as tutoring, note-taking or assistive technology. It is a separate application from OSAP and is completed with the school's accessibility office. Each academic year it can provide up to $2,000 through the Ontario bursary and up to $20,000 through the federal grant, with caps on each item.
Who can apply
- Verified permanent disability or persistent or prolonged disability for OSAP purposes
- For BSWD: eligible for full-time OSAP with at least $1 of calculated provincial need (or Ontario Part-Time Grant, or an institution special bursary)
- For CSG-DSE: eligible for full-time OSAP with at least $1 of calculated federal need, or part-time OSAP
- Covers services and equipment needed for post-secondary study, such as note-takers, tutors and assistive technology
