About this award
A need-based bursary from the Ontario Legion for Canadian Forces veterans and serving members and their families, and for Legion and Ladies' Auxiliary members and their families. Awards are up to $1,250 a year and are not based on marks. Students must apply for OSAP, and high school students can only apply once they are on campus in the fall of first year.
Who can apply
- Enrolled in post-secondary (high school students apply once on campus in the fall)
- Ex-service or currently serving member of the Canadian Forces (Regular, Reserve or Merchant Navy), or their spouse, child or grandchild; Commonwealth war veterans and their children and grandchildren also qualify
- Or the student is an Ordinary or Life Member of a Legion branch or their spouse, child or grandchild, a Ladies' Auxiliary member or their child or grandchild, or an Associate Member or their child
- Must apply for OSAP
- Financial need is assessed using family income, assets and dependants
- Part-time students need at least a 20% course load; correspondence and distance courses are not eligible

- OSAP application plus OSAP application data and funding or status summary
- Proof of eligibility (service record, or Legion membership verified by a branch officer)
- Registrar's section completed by the school
