About this award

A national award from the CWB Welding Foundation for a graduating high school student who has been accepted into a full-time welding technician or welding engineering technology program. Applicants send a transcript, two references, proof of acceptance and a 1,000-word essay. Strong marks count for the largest share of the score. AI-generated submissions are disqualified.

Who can apply

  • Secondary school student accepted into a full-time welding program at a Canadian post-secondary institution
  • Recent graduates also eligible if high school was completed after January 1, 2020
  • Scored on academics (80+ average in Grade 11 and 12), community involvement, welding experience and essay
