About this award

The Canadian Association of Women in Construction gives $2,000 bursaries to women in construction-related college, university and trades programs. Most applicants must have finished at least one year of their program, so this is one to plan for after Grade 12 rather than during it. Applicants need two references, a transcript and a cover letter about their construction career goals.

Who can apply

  • Identifies as a woman
  • Canadian citizen or permanent resident
  • Completed at least the first year of a college or university diploma or degree and enrolled full time in the next year, or enrolled in a qualifying trades program
  • Studying in a construction-related program with clear construction career goals
  • Shows financial need, leadership and community involvement
  • Shows interest in activities that advance women in construction, and takes part in related community activities
